Scenic World is a tourist attraction set in the heart of Australia's beautiful Blue Mountains.

The attraction offers a range of experiences to help visitors explore the World Heritage site, including an aerial skyway and a 52° incline scenic railway which descends into the Jamison Valley.

Scenic World is home to the infamous Orphan Rocker rollercoaster, a ride which began being constructed in 1984 but, despite years of work and promises of imminent opening, never carried a member of the general public. The coaster was designed with swinging mine-car style trains which would have provided extra thrills as it navigated around the 2756 feet of track that wove around the cliff 700ft above the valley floor. Scenic World battled for years to get the ride open, stumbling over changing health and safety regulations and the financial demands of the rest of the site, but seems to have finally given up as parts of the track were removed in 2017.

Despite the failure of Orphan Rocker, Scenic World is still a worthwhile experience. There's plenty to see and the Blue Mountains are world renowned for their beauty. Even on a less-than clear day, a trip on the Cableway to Scenic Railway descend into the valley will take visitors to the start of a boardwalk through the spectacular ancient rainforest.
