Thor's Hammer, based around the legend of the Norse god's devastatingly powerful weapon, is a rollercoaster at Djurs Sommerland in Denmark.
The ride is a Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster, and features an identical layout to G'sengte Sau at Tripsdrill. It features four seater single car trains and a layout with bunny hop hills, helixes and wild mouse style hairpin turns, although sadly not the spectacular castle themed building of Tripsdrill's version.
Gerstlauer Bobsleds tend to be a lot of fun and very smooth, and Thor's Hammer is just the same. The layout that takes place largely over water in the second half is interesting, and the addition of the wooden shack that the train zooms through mid-ride (similar to that of Cobra at the UK's Paultons Park) adds to the entertainment. There's a lot of airtime on offer, and the cars feel like they are gliding around on a track as smooth as glass.
Thor's Hammer was the first rollercoaster to be built at Djurs Sommerland. Although the park has added multiple spectacular coasters to its collection since then, Thor's Hammer remains an excellent very enjoyable ride in the lineup.
