Trombi at Särkänniemi is a rollercoaster which, according to the park's website at least, gives riders wanting to fly an "authentic flying experience".
Well if climbing half way up a ladder, lying in a cage and being bashed around with various bits of rubber and metal slamming into you is what birds experience on a daily basis, you can count me out.
The ride is a Zamperla Volare, a rollercoaster model notorious for its roughness and the general discomfort offered to its riders. As an off-the-shelf example, Trombi sadly is no different. Riders are likely to be subjected to headbashing, body parts smashing into the "protective" cage as the train bangs its way through the inversions, and if they're extremely unlucky even bashing their shins when trying to climb into or out of the restraints.
Trombi has absolutely no saving graces, and is a heap of trash that really doesn't belong in a nice park like Särkänniemi. If anybody claims to get any enjoyment out of Trombi, sit them down on a bench and check they're OK ... they might have hit their head one too many times during the circuit.
