The wheel at night
La Reine des Neige is a 40 metre tall ferris wheel which sits within the Amigoland summer funfair in France.
The wheel has a snowy arctic theme, and comes complete with a giant polar bear sitting at its base. Its white painted structure is lit with a pink colour scheme as darkness falls over the fair, thanks to a lighting package featuring 5202 LEDs and 124 spotlights.
Views from the top are great, with riders being able to see down over the fair, across the surrounding town and countryside, and out to sea. Watching the sun setting over the ocean from the top of the wheel is amazing.
The wheel comes from Holland and was built in 1990. It takes 3 days to assemble the 95 tonne structure, and 2 days to deconstruct and load onto 3 trailers.
Every good funfair needs a big wheel, and Amigoland have got a great one in a fantastic position with La Reine des Neige.
