Lucky River is Parc Spirou’s log flume that was added to the theme park the year after opening in 2019.
It features the usual log themed boats, which float through the ride’s water trough.
Near the start of the ride is a turntable and backwards drop. Although it’s only small, depending on the weight of the boat it can create quite a splash and get the back seat rider pretty wet!
The middle part of the course is taken backwards, before the boat arrives at the ride’s vertical lift hill. It is swiftly lifted to the top and sent over the main drop, splashing into the water below, before turning 180 degrees and floating back to the loading platform.
Lucky River is not as large as a lot of park log flumes, but the space is utilised well to create a fun – and potentially very wet! – ride. Using a vertical lift to save space was a smart move, as was adding the backwards section which is more interesting than the bog standard log flume ride.
