Anaconda is the surprise ride at Walygator Grand Est, not looking much but delivering just a little more.
The rollercoaster is a woodie built by DH Morgan back in 1989. It has a standard out-and-back circuit, with the track mainly running parallel to a public railway line at the edge of the theme park.
From the look of it you may well expect it to be a rough old beast, but it is actually nice and comfortable. Overall it's smooth albeit with quite a bounce, although the padded seats ensure that is not too much of an issue.
Perhaps the smoothness has come at the cost of a bit of fun though: The train has enough speed not to be crawlingly slow, but never succeeds in feeling overwhelmingly out of control, nor exposing riders to many changes in forces save for isolated tiny pops of airtime.
Anaconda is an old school woodie which stands out among the other rides at the rather shabby Walygator Grand Est. While at some other theme parks it might just be OK, at Walygator it attracts attention as one of their best rides and provides some genuine fun and thrills.
