Karacho

For Tripsdrill visitors seeking the fastest most intense thrills, Karacho could well be the ultimate ride.

The rollercoaster sits towards the back section of the park near Mammut and is an Infinity Coaster model from Gerstlauer.

Inside the queuing area and station riders are introduced to inventor Karle Kolbenfresser and his crazy steampunk inventions. The peak of his creations is Karacho.

The rollercoaster features a short dark ride section with a surprise inversion followed by a spectacular launch out of the building, accelerating to almost a hundred kilometres per hour in 1.6 seconds before climbing nearly vertically up a 30 metre top hat. This though is only the start of the experience. Karacho features a wonderfully varied layout including more inversions and a vertical dive into an underground tunnel which is almost certainly the highlight of the ride.

Karacho's single car trains seat up to eight riders across two rows of four, who are all secured with lapbar restraints which adds much to the experience.

Gerstlauer's Infinity coasters are an incredibly flexible product. The Smiler, Alton Towers' disappointing record-breaking fourteen loop rollercoaster is also an Infinity Coaster, as is Slagharen's superb launched shuttle coaster Gold Rush. Karacho is very different from both of these, but a brilliant coaster in its own right.

Karacho is hard not to love. From the quirky theming in the station and the smooth yet forceful layout to the diving inversions and the lapbar restraints, it is a fantastic rollercoaster and an inspired choice of ride for Tripsdrill.
