Perhaps Holiday Park's biggest claim to fame is as home to Expedition GeForce, a rollercoaster that has been consistently rated amongst the best in the world since it was built in 2001.
The park is located in Haßloch about half way between Frankfurt and Stuttgart in Germany's Rhineland region and was opened in 1971. Since then it has grown to become one of Germany's most popular theme parks. Holiday Park was bought by Studio 100 in 2010, and the influence and characters from the Plopsa brand are now in evidence around the park.
Alongside the ever popular Expedition GeForce, Holiday Park's other large rollercoaster is Sky Scream, a launched Sky Rocket coaster from Premier Rides. Other highlights include Sky Fly, an aeroplane themed flat ride with wings that riders can control and use to turn the planes upside down; and Wickie Splash, a fun and nicely Plopsa-themed log flume.
Holiday Park is very pleasant and being brought up to the high standards of the Plopsa/Studio 100 brand. While the park is smaller than you might first imagine, it has some nice attractions, with Expedition GeForce notably leading the pack.
