The Quest
The Quest is one of two rollercoasters within the Tír Na nÓg themed land at Emerald Park near Dublin.
The ride is a Family Boomerang manufactured by Dutch rollercoaster builder Vekoma, which winds its way around Na Fianna Force, the other more intense coaster within Tír Na nÓg.
Rides aboard The Quest are a two-part affair: following the outward run which largely sticks close to the ground before climbing a near vertical spike inside the castle tower, riders find themselves falling backwards and taking the track again in reverse.
It's a fun ride with even a few moments of gentle airtime, and travelling up the vertical spike inside the castle tower is a highlight. What makes it even more special are the interactions between The Quest and the Na Fianna Force trains, if the timings are right.
While both of Tír Na nÓg's rollercoasters should appeal to most of the family, The Quest is tamer and is suitable for younger and more nervous riders. It's still enjoyable for adults too, and the theming and the way it winds around the same area as the larger Na Fianna Force makes it an entertaining ride.
