Into the dragon's mouth
Il Lago del Sogno ("The Lake of Dreams") is a gentle boat ride at Fiabilandia.
Riders board a dragon shaped boat and are taken on a journey around the park's magical lake, past huge umbrellas and large fountains, then through a giant dragon's mouth and into a magical fantasy world beyond. The boats move along an underwater track at a constant speed rather than being floating freely along a water channel.
Inside the dragon is a long colourful tunnel with lighting effects and a relaxing musical background, which leads to the finale of the ride: a circular room containing the "tree of life" lit up with fibre optics.
Il Lago del Sogno is a nice gentle ride aimed at children and families. While the first outdoor half is fairly bland save for the odd spinning umbrellas, the dark ride portion is more engaging and strangely stupour inducing in the positive sleepy-after-a-big-meal kind of way.
