Corkscrew
Shaman, formerly known as Magic Mountain, is Gardaland's rather elderly looping rollercoaster.
The ride was manufactured by Vekoma and features two vertical loops followed by two corkscrews and a helix surrounding a large fountain display as its finale.
It was originally equipped with the standard Arrow trains of the era, but in 2009 was retrofitted with new Vekoma cars featuring soft vest style restraints. These help greatly with the otherwise painful headbanging that is often a feature of old Vekoma looping coasters.
While Shaman isn't the most comfortable of rollercoasters, it is definitely ridable thanks to these new trains. The vertical loops are actually fairly smooth, but the corkscrew elements rather less so.
Shaman's track surrounds Gardaland's S&S Screaming Squirrel coaster, Sequoia Magic Loop.
