Miragica is one of the new parks constructed as part of the theme park building frenzy that has taken place in Italy in the past few years. It is owned by the same company as Rainbow MagicLand, although that is very surprising. Whereas Rainbow MagicLand is clean and well kept, Miragica looks rundown with faded or broken theming and weeds growing through cracks in the pathways just a few years after it was opened.
One of the most obvious signs of this is in the park's 4D cinema, where it looks like the seats have been literally eaten away. Large lumps of foam padding have been exposed, and there is little sign of any attempted repairs.
This is all very sad, as the park has some decent rides and themed areas. Miragica's headline attraction is Senzafiato, an Intamin Accelerator coaster. Although it is only 60 feet tall, it gives a brilliant ride experience and feels smoother than some of its bigger brothers.
Worth noting too is Miragica's rapids ride. Unlike most rapids rides which largely meandor slowly down a wide trough occasionally encountering some white water, Mangiabiglie is set around a large rock formation. The boat quickly descends down the hill on a spiralling course that provides more speed and turbulent jolting than I've ever found on another rapids ride. It's genuinely scary, but superb fun at the same time.
Aside from the upkeep, there is little majorly wrong with Miragica. It just needs some care and attention - weed-ridden footpaths and dirty toilets do not leave a good first impression, and could be easily fixed. Hopefully Miragica's park management will look to its sister park Rainbow MagicLand to see how things should be done.
