Rioolrat
Rioolrat takes riders on a rollercoaster ride on the back of a rat through an underground sewer.
The ride is an enclosed rollercoaster which takes place in almost complete darkness, save for some green lasers, occasional strobes, a brief sojourn into daylight and a light tunnel at the end.
The hardware is a Junior Coaster from Vekoma which makes everything family friendly, although taking place in darkness heightens the sense of speed and excitement. Riders usually get two laps around the track.
In several ways Rioolrat is reminiscent of the Rat Ride at Lightwater Valley. The walk to the station is through a similarly themed "sewer tunnel", although Rioolrat's coaster is a lot newer and in much better condition.
Rioolrat is a pleasant ride, even if the sewer theme gets somewhat lost once visitors board the ride itself. However, its queue moves slowly and if there's a long wait it's probably worth trying one of Hellendoorn's other attractions instead.
