Twinpigs

Twinpigs is a small theme park predominantly targeted at children. It has an overarching all-American theme, with areas including the Wild West, Mexico and Hawaii.

The rides and attractions are all family friendly, and include a small dragon rollercoaster, big wheel with wagon themed cars, a train and not one but two 5D cinemas. Alongside these are play areas and some animals to visit.

More unusual attractions include a scary walk through mine, which takes place in almost complete darkness, and a walk behind a waterfall which cascades down the massive rock façade of an unfinished warehouse building.

The theming is mostly nicely done, although the “Las Vegas” area doesn’t look anything like the famous Strip. The highlight is the main park thoroughfare that takes on a wild west street theme.

Twinpigs is let down by some of its staff who are rather unfriendly, and the park’s general disorganisation. We turned up as a large pre-booked group, yet the park had completely forgotten we were coming and it felt very much like they’d have preferred we weren’t there.

The park has a limited number of restaurants which were consumed catering for some school children, and the only food options on offer to us were tomato or chicken soup (the chicken was disgusting dishwater and didn’t contain any chicken) and some chips. There was another restaurant offering a selection of tasty looking burgers, wraps and chicken but, although it was completely deserted, we were told this was reserved for hotel guests only.

Hopefully families and smaller groups might have a better experience, as Twinpigs does have some nice attractions. However, be warned that if you turn up on a day that is busier than they were expecting, you might not get anything to eat!
