The traditional Alton Towers end of season fireworks show...
Alton Towers' annual Fireworks Spectacular was back at the theme park again for three nights over the 9th-11th November weekend in 2012.
Similar to the shows in the previous two years since the re-introduction of the end of season fireworks event, this year's show did not feature a storyline. Instead Alton Towers concentrated on providing a huge spectacular packed with music and fireworks accompanied by a great laser and light show.
Following a pre-show light and laser show featuring Otto Knows' Million Voices which included the Towers ruins being lit up in multiple flashing colours, the main show itself was divided broadly into musical sections. The first featured some of the year's greatest pop hits, followed by a rock mix, climaxing with a mashup of dance music before the show closed with the Alton Towers' adopted theme tune In the Hall of the Mountain King.
The show was another crowd-pleaser, with the massive firework display wowing the crowd, and the mix of music having something to match most people's tastes. The decision in 2010 to bring back Fireworks is clearly paying off for Alton Towers!
