Pizza and Pasta
One of the larger food outlets at Alton Towers, Explorer's Pizza and Pasta is a sit down restaurant which lies at the heart of the park's Katanga Canyon area opposite Runaway Mine Train and the entrance to Congo River Rapids.
The restaurant is run as an unlimited buffet, and offers customers an array of freshly cooked pizzas, pasta dishes and salad items together with bottomless soft drinks.
For a help-yourself buffet, the food is surprisingly good quality. Unfortunately at busy times there can be a bit of a scrum around the more popular pizzas, and they seem to stuggle to keep up with demand.
Before Pizza Pasta opened, the restaurant building hosted KFC and Pizza Hut until the end of the 2008 season.
