Haunted Hollow Live
The new Haunted Hollow pathway between Merrie England and Duel was made extra spooky for Scarefest in 2007 and 2008 with the addition of several live actors stationed along the route, together with extra lighting and smoke effects.
The experience wasn't designed to be overly frightening, which would have prevented families from taking the shortcut through the woods, but instead provided some fun spooky antics.
Three or four actors could usually be found on the pathway, portraying characters such as "Doug" the gravedigger, a faun, and a tarot reader who would tell stories to guests who paused to listen.
