A hapless fishing boat Captain has run his vessel aground after being lured onto the rocks by a mysterious mermaid, and now needs your help to rock the boat and get it unstuck and back out into the open waters before it is wrecked forever.
Trawler Trouble is a themed Zamperla Rockin' Tug in Chessington's Shipwreck Coast area and opened along with the area itself on 15 July 2022.
Guests sit in rows on the large trawler which slides up and down a halfpipe shaped track as the boat slowly spins around, causing riders to feel as if they are helping rock the boat backwards and forwards in an effort to dislodge it.
Before coming to Chessington, the ride was found up the road at Chessington's sister park Thorpe Park where it had operated since 2017 as Timber Tug Boat. It was removed from Thorpe to make way for construction of Project Exodus, the park's new 2024 rollercoaster.
Trawler Trouble fits into Chessington much better than it ever did at Thorpe Park, and has been given a great storyline and theme to fit in with the rest of Shipwreck Coast. Despite its similarities to Griffin's Galleon, it is different enough to give children a new adventure and they seem to enjoy riding it.
