Flamingo Land is a large theme park and zoo located in the Yorkshire village of Kirby Misperton, and is one of the largest tourist attractions in the region.
The park began as a zoo in the late 1950s, and expanded to include rides and other amusement attractions in the 70s. It became famous around the turn of the millennium for hosting two rollercoasters designed by Anton Schwarzkopf - The Bullet, a shuttle loop coaster; and Magnum Force, a triple looping coaster which had previously toured German fairs as Dreier Looping. Both rides were removed towards the end of the 2005 season.
Around the same time, the park began a massive expansion programme which has seen it open a large number of new rides including several large rollercoasters. The quality of theming has improved massively, with several themed areas opening and transforming Flamingo Land from a simple amusement park into a more immersive theme park attraction.
