Tidal Wave
Tidal Wave was a flat ride that sat in the Seaside Adventure area at Flamingo Land.
The ride was a Vekoma Wakiki Wave ride, which is a variant on the well known Top Spin.
Riders sat side-by-side on two sides of a large gondola, 24 people per row. Two arms attached to the gondola would rotate, lifting it into the air. However in contrast to normal top spins, Tidal Wave's arms could move independently, tipping the gondola diagonally as it spun rather than inverting upside-down.
Tidal Wave was really good fun, with the diagonal motion providing weird sensations. It lasted at Flamingo Land for fifteen years before being removed to make way for Mumbo Jumbo at the end of the 2008 season.
