Entering through a recently discovered portal at Legoland, visitors will encounter a parallel land known as Mythica filled with fantasy Lego creatures which have come to life.
The area opened at Legoland Windsor in May 2021 and features three major rides including Flight of the Sky Lion, the UK's first flying theatre. Fire & Ice Freefall are a new pair of drop towers, and Hydra's Challenge is a retheme of the old SQUID Surfer ride.
Along with the rides, Mythica is filled with thirteen huge models of mythical creatures built out of over 1.7 million Lego bricks. The largest of these is a model of Maximus the Sky Lion on the wall of the Flight of the Sky Lion theatre building, which weighs over two tons and contains 685,530 bricks.
There is also a Creature Creation attraction where children can use Lego to build their own mythical creature, a Creature Encounter photo opportunity, and a new Lava Dragon Play playground. The old Fish and Chips restaurant next to the Heartlake City lake has been given a makeover and turned into The Hungry Troll restaurant which has also been adopted into the Mythica land.
