Legoland Windsor joins in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a royal makeover in Miniland...
Miniland London has been decked out in red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubliee in June 2022.
Legoland's miniature representation of the Capital has been given a majestic makeover, with crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace and down The Mall, Jubilee street parties in full swing, and even a flypast by the Red Arrows.
The Royal Family are looking over the scene from the Balcony of Buckingham Palace. The Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla can all be seen along with Prince William, Kate and their three children.
A new model has been added near the front of the Palace to represent the Tree of Trees, a real life sculpture setup outside the real Buckingham Palace as part of the Platinum Jubliee celebrations.
Legoland is well-known for adding bits and pieces around Miniland to represent current events and it has a tradition of celebrating Royal events. While it isn't a surprise to see them recognising the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the scale of the additions this time around is commendable. It has taken the park's model makers over 280 hours to build and has used more than 18000 Lego bricks to complete.
The Nation's official celebrations may have been largely confined to the long Bank Holiday Weekend, but the street parties, pomp and ceremony continue in Legoland until the end of the season in November - it is well worth taking a look!
