Coastguard HQ gives children the chance to drive their own electric powered boat through a twisting water channel past Lego divers, animals and maybe even a Lego fisherman!
Boats have a steering wheel and a pedal to power them forward. Kids love steering - especially as no real harm is done if they crash into the side or another boat on the river! - but younger children might need a grown up to help them keep the pedal pressed down.
The ride came to Legoland in 1996 and was originally named Boating School. It underwent a retheme in 2015 when it was renamed Coastguard HQ and given a new bright orange and blue colour scheme.
Coastguard HQ is one of Legoland's very popular rides, but is also very slow loading so large queues often form even with the dual-loading platform. Once you're out on the water though, it's a lovely tranquil experience ... until you encounter the water squirting elephant of course!
