Riding the jet skis
Riders board their jetskis as they take to the water, joining an adventure with the Submarine Quest Undersea Investigation Department (S.Q.U.I.D.).
S.Q.U.I.D. Surfer features two turntables, each with six two-person "jet skis". These spin around quite fast, with riders using a steering wheel to control how far away or close to the turntable their jet ski travels.
With a bit of skill and a bit of practice using the steering wheel, it can be quite fun to produce some hefty waves of water.
Riders need to watch out though: there are underwater "water bombs" which can be set off by spectators pressing large buttons and guaranteeing a soaking for unwary jet ski pilots.
The ride was originally known as Adventurer's Wave Surfer (or simply Wave Surfer) before undergoing a minor retheme and rename to SQUID Surfer for the 2012 season. It was closed for the 2020 season due to construction work for the new 2021 Lego Mythica land, undergoing a more substantial refurbishment and retheme into Hydra's Challenge for 2021.
