The Edge is Paultons Park's Zamperla Mega Disk'O Coaster, which opened in 2009.
The ride is a larger version of Zamperla's popular Disk'O rides, with the track lengthed by the addition of a camelback hill at the midpoint.
Riders are seated in a circle facing outwards on the outer edge of a large disk. During the ride, the disk spins at the same time as travelling along the 90 metre track, offering riders swooping sensations and moments of floating airtime.
The Edge sits in a corner of Paultons Park next to the Cobra rollercoaster. In 2009, both rides became the subject of a planning dispute involving the classification of the land they were built on being "Country Park" instead of "Amusement Park" as in the rest of Paultons Park. Luckily, following a six month battle, permission was given by the New Forest National Park Planning Authority for the park to keep the ride in its current location.
