Velociraptor is one of two new rollercoasters from Vekoma that were added to Paultons Park in the new Lost Kingdom area for the 2016 season.
The coaster is one of Vekoma's Family Boomerang models, with a train which navigates the circuit both forwards and in reverse.
From the station, the train is pulled backwards up the lift hill before being released and racing back through the station and around some sweeping helices and then over the station roof. At the other end of the track, the train ascends a large spike. After loosing momentum, it begins to fall backwards and completes the whole layout again, but this time in reverse.
Velociraptor is nicely themed, with the track passing beside various dinosaur models and animatronics sited in lush "prehistoric" vegetation. The coaster is smooth too, and provides nice views over the rest of the Lost Kingdom area from the top of the lift hill.
