South Pier is most southerly of the three piers on the Blackpool sea front.
When it opened on Good Friday 1893 it was known as Victoria Pier, and was looked on as higher class than the other Blackpool piers.
Today, South Pier sits across the road from the entrance to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and contains a small number of rides and other attractions. Since 1998 the pier has had a spinning wild mouse rollercoaster, originally "Crazy Mouse" which operated until 2009, followed by "Crazy Coaster" after a nine year hiatus in 2018.
