The magic of the movies comes to Thorpe Park's Fright Nights event, with the Trailers scare maze which is set in the world of horror films.

Visitors find themselves entering into the abandoned Superspark Cinema, meeting one of the old employees in the lobby. They give an introduction to the maze's storyline, which tells of a massive power surge which affected the cinema leading to its closure ... and rumours that the films inside have come to life!

Trailers premiered in 2021 as part of the theme park's celebration of the 20th anniversary of Fright Nights, and has been designed as a tribute to some of the best loved Fright Nights attractions of the past including The Big Top, The Curse, and Se7en.

As visitors make their way through the maze they pass through various rooms, each themed around a fictional horror most of which have been based on a past attraction. Each room is small so it is worth moving through slowly - groups who rush around are likely to miss much of the detail and even possibly a few scares.

The theming throughout the maze is pretty good, looking a lot like an old abandoned cinema. Some of the film themed rooms are better than others, but the maze's finale based in the projection room is nicely done with a few great special effects.

Trailers is a maze very much designed for Fright Nights fans. While the general abandoned cinema and films come to life themes work for everyone, there's quite a lot of hidden details and references which only the most hardcore fans will understand.
