Green Hornet
Taking the Green Hornet superhero character as its theme, Green Hornet: High Speed Chase is one of the outdoor rollercoasters at Motiongate in Dubai.
The ride is a Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster which features four seater cars and a mix of wild mouse like elements and longer swooping curving drops as seen on more standard rollercoasters.
Sadly Green Hornet: High Speed Chase is one of the weakest rides at Motiongate and definitely not a great example of a Gerstlauer Bobsled. While it is smooth, it suffers from being small and compact with its cars never getting up too much speed or doing anything particularly interesting outside that of a standard wild mouse.
In common with many Motiongate attractions, the coaster has an extensive and nicely themed indoor queueline which, due to the lack of visitors, is mostly deserted and acts more like a walkthrough introduction to the ride's storyline. Unfortunately that is probably the best part of the ride experience.
The coaster itself takes place mainly outside, with its light grey painted track plonked down on a plain concrete base in what feels like some undecorated backstage staff area of the park.
Thanks to the low numbers of visitors that Motiongate attracts, it doesn't take long to ride Green Hornet: High Speed Chase and then move on to enjoy some of Motiongate's better attractions.
