Glowing vivid green and towering more than a hundred feet over the centre of the park, Monster is a large multi-inversion rollercoaster at Adventureland in Iowa.
The ride is one of the only Gerstlauer Infinity coasters in the United States, and features five inversions over its 2500 ft of track.
Monster begins with its eight-seater trains climbing 133 ft to the top of its vertical lift, then tipping over the edge and racing down a beyond-vertical 101° first drop into a fairly compact layout featuring graceful turns, dive loops, a corkscrew and various airtime hills.
It is a real highlight at the park, and comes alive even more at night as the track is lit up with LED lighting.
Monster rides well, is intense yet smooth, and is the kind of rollercoaster you might expect to find in a much larger theme park: Adventureland is definitely punching above its weight with Monster.
