Dominator's loop is one of the tallest in the world
Dominator is a large rollercoaster at Kings Dominion, which sits in the park's International Street area.
The ride is a Bolliger & Mabillard Floorless Coaster, originally built in 2000 at Six Flags Ohio (later Geauga Lake). It was moved to Kings Dominion where it opened on a site near the front of the park in May 2008.
With over 4200 feet of track, Dominator is the longest floorless coaster in the world. Its 135ft loop is also one of the tallest vertical loops to be found.
Sadly the ride suffers from a total lack of theming. In fact, it looks very much like it was dumped on a piece of land at the edge of the park (which it pretty much was - it sits on a former bus park).
Generally floorless coasters can be a lot of fun, with riders feeling more exposed than on a standard sitdown rollercoaster due to the lack of floor underneath them. Sadly, Dominator does not provide a particularly pleasant ride experience: it's a bit of a bone shaker and rather rough. It maybe worth one ride to say you've done it, but there probably won't be much desire for any re-rides!
