Shenandoah Lumber Company gives Kings Dominion visitors the ideal way to cool off in the Virginia heat.
The water ride is a log flume from Arrow Development, and has been in the Old Virginia area at Kings Dominion since the park opened in 1975.
It takes the turn of the century west coast mountain lumber flumes as its theme.
As with many log flume rides, visitors are seated one in front of the other in large four seater log themed boats, which meander their way around a water channel through the surrounding woodland. The finale of the ride comes with a 40-foot drop and splashdown section. You won't get soaked, but it provides a refreshing sprinking of water!
Log flumes are always good fun. Shenandoah Lumber Company may not be the most innovative example, but its shady setting surrounded by trees provides a pleasant relief from the sun.
