LA County Fair is a huge county fair which takes place annually in September at Fairplex, a few miles outside the city of Los Angeles. Since its inception in 1922 as an agricultural fair celebrating Californian heritage, it has grown into the 4th largest fair in the United States.

Alongside a massive fair section featuring rollercoasters, ferris wheels and thrill rides, the fair features several agricultural exhibits including a farmyard, a petting zoo, displays of tractors, and bizarre but very entertaining pig racing competitions.

At the centre of Fairplex is a large stadium that hosts a series of A-list concerts and sporting events during the run of the fair.

LA County Fair is famous for its fair food. Hundreds of stalls serve a variety of traditional snacks including popcorn and corn dogs, but the more adventurous (and those willing to risk a massive heart attack on the spot) can gorge themselves on more exotic delights such as a Krispy Kreme chicken ice cream sandwich, or a cheeseburger encased in pizza slices. There's nothing off limits food wise at the LA County Fair!
