Let's be honest: When you think of Six Flags, you don't think of big budgets being spent on high quality theming and immersive environments. Impressive, then, is the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis interactive dark ride which has been built at several parks in the chain.
Riders board A.R.G.U.S. RTVs for a journey through Metropolis to help the Justice League of superheroes on their quest to save the city and the world, plus release members of the League who are being held captive by band of DC Comic's most evil villains.
Six Flags St Louis' version of the ride opened on 5 June 2016 as the second Justice League opening following its premiere at Six Flags Over Texas a few days before.
The combination of special effects, animatronics, themed scenery and highly manoeuvrable ride vehicles make for a high quality ride - something that is quite unexpected for Six Flags.
St Louis' version isn't quite as good as Justice League at Six Flags Great America, with the pacing feeling slower and some of the effects not quite landing with the same edge, but it is still a great ride. It just shows what Six Flags can achieve if they don't go cheap on story and theming!
