Beer, Oompah bands and German street food come to Alton Towers...
Oktoberfest was one of the new events introduced in recent years at Alton Towers, partly to encourage more visitors in the traditionally quiet post-summer holiday September period prior to Scarefest season. Having missed both the 2020 and 2021 editions, this was my first visit to the German fair inspired event with its live entertainment, Oompah band, beer stalls and German inspired food.

We headed to the benches to meet up with Jake and Heath from Adventure Bears Global and Ben and Hollie from Ben and Hollie's Theme Park Adventures
The Oktoberfest Sing-Along Show was in full swing
It's hard to sing on an empty stomach, so we grabbed some lunch from the special Oktoberfest food stalls

While the front lawns were the main focus for the event, there was plenty more Oktoberfest fun to be found around the rest of the park

We took the Skyride over to Forbidden Valley
We decided to make Nemesis our final ride of the day
Signs have appeared around the area announcing Nemesis is closing at the end of the season
The ride will be completely retracked next year before reopening in 2024

Alton have done a good job with Oktoberfest, with a nice atmosphere and some great fun live entertainment. All in all we had a great day, and it was fantastic to meet up with friends both old and new!
