The first of the day's parks was the relatively small Parc de la Vallée
Starting with Magic Pomme, the smallest coaster at the park

I'd been really looking forward to visiting the second park of the day, Puy du Fou
It is a park made up exclusively of shows, rather than rides or rollercoasters
We began with Les Amoureux de Verdun, an immersive walk through the trenches of the First World War
Les Chevaliers de la Table Ronde was a show based on the story of King Arthur
The climax of the show saw the legendary round table rising out of the lake
There was a giant crowd waiting to get inside Puy du Fou's Roman stadium

Drivers' hours meant we couldn't stay for the evening show, so we made our way back to the coach
A very late 11:30pm hotel check-in brought the day to a close with a massive relief: it was one of the first hotels of the trip where the air conditioning in the room actually worked!
