The oddness of our hotel continued the next morning: The basic breakfast was served on paper plates with disposable cutlery,
and people were being actively chased as they tried to leave the restaurant by an angry man who made them go back inside and clear their tables if they
hadn't thrown everything away (not that it was clear we had to). Then our coach was locked in and not allowed to leave, as he
thought we hadn't returned all the room key cards - it turned out the missing cards were for room numbers that weren't ours.
Overall it must be one of the least hospitable hospitality venues in the whole of France!
Parc Spirou Provence
Eventually once our coach was finally allowed to leave the hotel, we made it to
Parc Spirou Provence, which was only a short drive away
We started with an ERS on Spirou Racing, a smooth but forceless coaster from Zierer
It was already baking hot at 10am, so we decided to try and get on the outdoor rides and then get out of the heat
- this was Wanted Dalton
En avant Seccotine was a little kiddie coaster
Next up was Nid des Marsupilamis
However, it broke down while we were in the queue and people had to be rescued by scissor lift
Another car had got stuck near the end of the ride
We had a ride on the nicely themed Disk'O Coaster instead
Mercifully Parc Spirou has three attractions from Simworx which are all housed indoors in air conditioned buildings,
which allowed us some respite from the heat
Gaffe à Gaston was a car chase through an office building
Marsu Adventures was a 4D cinema featuring three characters chasing a ball through a city
Found a friend
The third Simworx ride was an immersive tunnel which took us flying with a superhero
Time for lunch
Lucky River provided some welcome water sprinkles
"Mouldy park" ice cream (not a mouldy ice cream)
The park gave us souvenir cups as a gift, which we went to the shop to claim before we left
The sat nav tried to send our coach down here on the way to our hotel - the drivers wisely decided to find an alternative route!
Amigoland
We had a couple of hours of downtime at the hotel before we went to Amigoland, a summer funfair where we would spend the evening
One of the big draws was the Jumbo Jet rollercoaster, although it (along with most of the fair) had yet to open when we arrived
There was, however, a wacky worm to help pass the time
Jumbo Jet had opened by the time we were done
There were no restraints!
It was a classic Schwarzkopf
Sunset coaster rides
We thought it would be a good time to ride the wheel before the light faded
Views over the fair
The sun setting
After a long walk around the rest of the fair, we ended up at Amigoland's Brasserie for dinner
It was then 11pm, and time to be picked up by the coach and taken back to our hotel ready for another early start the next morning
